Once your family is complete

Anita, 35 years (self-employed)

At the age of 34 I had twins. Life with them was very stressful the first year. Since my family planning with the two babies was definitely finished, I asked my gynaecologist which contraceptive method would be best for me. I wanted an uncomplicated method with as little hormonal stress as possible. I had never tolerated the pill very well.

My gynaecologist recommended a hormonal IUS. She gave me a detailed description of how the IUS worked. That was very important for me. After a few days to think about it, I had the IUS fitted. I was a little afraid of possible pain, but felt none. After that, I had light spotting for a few days. My periods soon stopped altogether. I feel free with this uncomplicated contraceptive method and have no complaints whatsoever.
